winged eye liner & tips

The use of eyeliner dates back to the ancient egyptians as early as 10,000BC where a black line of kohl was applied all around the eyes of both women and men.The eyeliner was used for not only cosmetic purposes but to protect the sensitive skin of the eyes from the desert sun. It was believed that lining the eyes with kohl (which was made from lead sulfide or anitomy, among other ingredients) offered protection against the evil eye.

Different kind of winged liner looks-
Winged eyeliner is known to be a corrective technique to help lift the eyes, lengthen and widen the eye area .The application has to be done in a strategic fashion,so you dont do the opposite and end up with droopy eyes.

HERE ARE FEW TIPS:

  • Using a black liquid liner with a very thin brush gently drag the brush along your lashline starting from the top inner corner of your eye toward the outer corner of eye.
  • Be sure to follow the natural shape of your eye .When you try to change the shape of your eyes with liner it actually makes them look smaller.very counterproductive
  • The trick is to line as close to the lashes as humanly possible
  • The firmer you press the brush the thicker the line will be
  • Use hand free mirror and keep your eye relaxed and slightly open as you line
  • This is very important:once you finish lining your eye do not blink at least 10-15 seconds to allow the liner to dry
  • After you have line both eyes be sure to compare the liner on each eye.Are they even? if not simple take a pointed q-tip and lightly drag the line along the eye to make it symmetrical to the other eye.
Dont worry if your liner isnt perfect after your first try.it took me lots of practice to get it down.:P
